creating Natio's massage oils
At Natio, developing new beauty products is a dynamic, hands-on process. For the Home Happiness range, Natio teamed up with the massage experts at Marigold Relaxation in Melbourne to create a specialised range of massage oils. From Sweet Almond to Apricot Kernel, Jojoba and Sesame, the skilled therapists tested a number of plant oils to determine which carrier oil would make the best premium massage oil base.
Each plant oil was rated on texture, feel, lubrication, absorption and stability. Where other oils were too sticky, light or quick-drying, Sesame Oil remained perfectly soft and silky, warming gently on the skin and offering the right glide to prevent any pulling and stretching of the skin during massage. Rich in antioxidant Vitamin E, Sesame Oil also works to deeply moisturise and rejuvenate the skin.
The next step was to choose a balanced pure essential oil blend to help relax the body and ease the mind during massage.
For the Relaxation Massage Oil, the objective was to find a soft, calming aroma that would enhance the feelings of tranquillity and well-being. Based on feedback from massage therapists and customers alike, Natio decided on a gentle, understated blend of Lavender and Rose. Together, these two essential oils help relax the senses, soothe the body and ease away tension and stress. Furthermore, Lavender Oil is often used to help promote restful sleep, making the massage oil ideal for night-time pampering.
Alternatively, a sports massage aims to alleviate tension, providing relief for tired and aching muscles. The essential oil blends therefore needed to support the massage therapist's efforts to ease muscular stress. Seeking a refreshing substitute for conventional sporty scents, Natio developed a unique and stimulating blend of Rosemary, Cinnamon and Wintergreen. This warm, energetic and uplifting aroma helps quietly and effectively alleviate tension, providing welcome relief for tired and aching muscles. Great for a pre or post workout massage and to soothe the body when you have been on your feet all day.
